There is still uncertainty looming large over the release of "Thalaivaa" in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, actor Vijay has made an emotional speech in a video talking about issues surrounding "Thalaivaa" release.

In the video, Vijay appeals to fans to avoid watching "Thalaivaa" in pirated DVDs. The film has released in other Indian states, except Tamil Nadu, as well as in overseas markets. This has led pirated DVDs and CDs making its way across the southern state. Earlier, in an official statement Vijay had asked his fans to inform the police if they witness anybody selling pirated versions of the film.

"Thalaivaa" team is also working hard to remove illegal links of the film uploaded on the net. Now, Vijay has come out with an emotional speech saying that he has sought an appointment to meet the Tamil Nadu chief minister to resolve the issue. He also said that "Thalaivaa" team is working to ensure the release of the film at the earliest. [To see the video, click here]

Fans were anticipating the release of "Thalaivaa" on the eve of Independence Day. However, the film did not make it to the theatres as expected. "Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer", directed by Suseenthiran, is the only Tamil film to release on 15 August. According to reports, "Thalaivaa" is unlikely to get released this week.

A theatre manager at a leading multiplex told Behindwoods.com that "Thalaivaa" might get released on 23 August. "Thalaivaa is unlikely to release this week in our property as we have already finalized our programming line-up for this weekend and given its tax exemption related issues, I see August 23rd as a more likely release date for Thalaivaa," he told the website.

However, there is no official information on the same. After the "Thalaivaa" team meets the CM, details about the film's release is expected to emerge.
