Ilayathalapathy Vijay has reportedly signed back-to-back films. Many filmmakers met him in the last couple of months and the actor has liked two subjects narrated by young directors.
The buzz is that Vijay has agreed to work with Atlee Kumar again. They will be teaming up for a family entertainer and the project will be bankrolled by the prestigious Sivaji Productions. The actor and director had collaborated recently in "Theri."
It is said that Atlee Kumar had narrated a few stories during the making of "Theri," out of which one subject has been finalised. This movie will take off once Vijay wraps up his forthcoming movie with Bharathan.
The other project Vijay has approved is with Pa Ranjith, who is basking in the success of "Kabali." The director had recently met the actor and his story has impressed the actor. Reports say that Vijay has given his nod to the film, which will be produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu.
Pa Ranjith will soon be joining hands with Suriya for an action-oriented film, which will be produced by Gnanavel Raja. It is only after the completion of this flick, his film with Vijay will take off.
Vijay 60
Ilayathalapathy's next movie, which is presently referred to as "Vijay 60," is progressing at a brisk pace. The movie has completed two schedules of shooting and the third schedule will begin soon.
The film has Keerthy Suresh in the female lead role. Aparna Vinod and Jagapathi Babu are doing important characters and Daniel Balaji, Sathish, Mimi Gopi, Harish Uthaman, Sharath Lohitashwa, Sreeman, YG Mahendra and others are in supporting roles.
The makers have plans to release the movie in January 2017.
