Acclaimed Marathi actor Vijay Chavan passed away at the age of 63 in Mumbai on Friday, August 24.
Vijay Chavan was a renowned film and theatre personality, known for his comic timing. He was known for playing the famous female character of Moruchi Mavshi in Pralhad Keshav Atre, which was based on the English play Charley's Aunt.
Vijay Chavan has acted in over 350 movies in the Marathi film industry and Bollywood. His notable performances include movies like the Zapatlela series, Jatra, Mumbaicha Dabewala, and Shrimanta Damodar Panta. He was recently bestowed with the V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence.
