PT Selvakumar, the former PRO of Tamil actor Vijay and a filmmaker, has created a controversy with his comparative talks while praising the stardom of Thalapathy. He has claimed in an interview that the Sarkar actor is a bigger star than Rajinikanth and Ajith.
In the interview, PT Selvakumar said that Vijay has become the bigger star in Kollywood, replacing Rajinikanth. The former PRO claims that the collections of Rajini's Kaala, Kabali and 2.0 are lesser than Nanban actor's films like Mersal and Sarkar.
Selvakumar says that he has authentic information from the theatres across Tamil Nadu and he is willing to have debates on the issues with anyone. In his words, Vijay is in the numero uno position and Rajinikanth and Ajith are fighting for the second place.
At one point in time, there was a lot of competition between Ajith and Vijay, but Thalapathy is altogether in a different league.
According to him, Rajinikanth has an image and willing to foray into politics. So, inflated numbers about box office are being circulated to protect his image. He also has stated that the Pongal battle between Viswasam and Petta will decide who is a bigger star among Ajith and Rajinikanth.
PT Selvakumar was the PRO of Vijay for years and he was replaced by Riaz K Ahmed in 2015. He had produced a few movies including Puli and directed a movie called Onbadhule Guru.
His words have now created controversy and left the fans of Ajith and Rajinikanth fuming.
However, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, the official fan club of Thalapathy, has distanced from his comments and stated that the actor has never been into comparison talks or degrading his peers.
