It was reported recently that Vijay and Atlee Kumar, who have collaborated for forthcoming Tamil movie "Theri," would join hands again for its sequel. The latest buzz says that their next flick will be a political thriller.
A report on Indiaglitz says that "Theri 2" will be a hard-hitting political-thriller like Shankar's "Mudhalvan." At this stage, neither the director nor the actor has confirmed about their plans but it has been reported that people can expect more about the project when "Theri" gets ready for the release.
It is interesting to note that Vijay had turned down the offer to star in "Mudhalvan," which had taken potshots at the then political scenario of Tamil Nadu. In his career, the actor has not starred in a complete political thriller even though some of his films have taken digs at politicians and political parties.
Vijay had expressed his interest to join politics in the past and a political thriller subject might suit his plans.
On the other end, Vijay has completed the shooting of "Theri." The Tamil movie had hit the floors in June 2015 and the team completed the 150-day schedule in January 2016.
Meanwhile, the teaser of "Theri" has met with great response from the audience. It has got close to 80 lakh hits on YouTube. Now, the audience is curiously looking forward to the release of its trailer and the audio which are expected to be out in March.
Produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, "Theri" has Samantha and Amy Jackson as the female leads. Mahendran is the antagonist in the Tamil film, which will be dubbed into Telugu. KS Ravikumar, Raadhikaa Sarathkumar, Rajendran, Kaali Venkat, TM Karthik and others are part of the cast. It will hit the screens in April.
