Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be teaming up with Atlee Kumar again. Yes, the hit duo of Theri is collaborating for yet another commercial entertainer, which is presently being referred to as Vijay 61.
Leading production house Sri Thenandal Films is producing the movie and it has announced that the script has been finalised. "Official Announcement: Script locked today! #Thalapathy61 @actorvijay @Atlee_dir," it posted on Twitter.
Thanking Vijay for giving him one more opportunity to work with him, Atlee Kumar tweeted, "Once again back with Anna @actorvijay And happy to associate with @ThenandalFilms. [sic]"
The makers are yet to open up on the cast and crew of the movie. So far, what is known is that KV Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of movies like Baahubali series and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has penned the story for the flick.
"This is our first film with a big hero like Vijay. We are proud of it. Atlee Kumar and Vijay's combo was successful earlier and we hope they will recreate the magic again," Hema Rukmani, the chief executive officer of Sri Thenandal Films, had told a TV channel earlier. The shooting of the movie is expected to commence in early 2017.
Rumours are doing rounds that Kajal Aggarwal and Nayanthara are front-runners to bag the female lead in Vijay 61.
Atlee Kumar had earlier teamed up with Vijay in Theri. The movie had turned out to be a hit at the box office. As a result, there is a good buzz around the latest project too.
On the other hand, the shooting of Vijay's Bairavaa has been completed and the team is now busy with the post-production works. The Bharathan's movie is an action-oriented family drama in which Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead role.
It will see the light of the day on Pongal 2017.
