After working with Mohanlal in "Jilla", Ilayathalapathy is reportedly set to work with yet another Malayalam superstar in his next movie, which is currently being referred to as "Vijay 61".
As per the reports, Mammootty will be playing an important role in "Vijay 61". The Malayalam superstar will have an equal role to Ilayathalapathy like Mohanlal had in "Jilla".
The upcoming movie is being directed by Jayam Raja aka Mohan Raja, who is basking in the success of his blockbuster "Thani Oruvan" starring his brother Ravi and Arvind Swamy.
Jayam Raja had earlier directed Vijay in "Velayudham", which featured Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in the female lead roles. It was inspired by Telugu hit film "Azad" starring Nagarjuna.
But their proposed project will be made with an original story, add reports. Jayam Raja is currently working on the story and he is in no hurry to complete the script, say reports. The director wants to take his time to complete the script so that the quality is not compromised.
Currently, Vijay is busy with "Theri" directed by Atlee Kumar of "Raja Rani" fame. It has Samantha and Amy Jackson in the female lead roles. The major part of the shooting is over with only songs left to be shot.
"Theri" will hit the screens next summer. Vijay will take up Bharathan's film once he wraps up Atlee Kumar's film. Hence, the Jayam Raja's project is likely to begin in the second half of 2016.
