Keerthy Suresh has bagged a biggie as the budding actress will be seen working with none other than Ilayathalapathy Vijay in his next film.
The 23-year-old signed the Tamil movie on the dotted lines recently, reports The Times of India. It was earlier said that Kajal Aggarwal, who had paired up with Vijay in "Jilla," was the front runner to play the main female lead and Keerthy Suresh would be seen in the second lead.
However, it has now been reported that there was only one female lead in the Tamil film and the role has been bagged by Keerthy Suresh. The upcoming flick will be directed by Bharathan, who had earlier worked with Vijay in "Azhagiya Tamizh Magan," and bankrolled by Vijaya Productions.
Keerthy Suresh started her acting career in the Malayalam industry as a child-artiste and turned lead actress in Mohalal's "Geethanjali." She entered Kollywood with AL Vijay directorial "Idhu Enna Maayam." However, she earned popularity in Tamil with her recent flick "Rajini Murugan," where she paired up with Sivakarthikeyan. Her upcoming other flicks are "Paambhu Sattai," "Mirattu," "Nurse Akka," "Aina Istam Nuvvu" and "Rakshak."
Coming to the forthcoming Vijay starrer, the pre-production works are currently underway in full swing and the regular shooting will begin in May. The daily adds that the Tamil flick does not belong to one particular genre and it is set in both city and rural backdrops.
The muhurat of the film was held on Jan. 19. The film, which is currently being referred to as "Vijay 60," has Santhosh Narayanan's music, Madhie's cinematography and Praveen KL's editing.
Meanwhile, Vijay has completed his forthcoming movie "Theri," written and directed by Atlee Kumar. The film will be released in April.
