Jagapathi Babu has shared his excitement of working with Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The duo has teamed up for the forthcoming Tamil movie, written and directed by Bharathan.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar and Jagapathi Babu's father veteran producer-director VB Rajendra Prasad had earlier teamed up for many films. Hence, this became a special project for Ilayathalapathy and the Telugu star.
"It is such a moving moment for me, as history is being repeated in this era in this way. I am so excited to be part of this project and acting with Vijay is such a delight, he is so humble. He is a dedicated and very intense actor, and I am hopeful my chemistry with him on screen will be loved and refreshing for the audience when they watch this film," Jagapathi Babu said in a press release.
The movie, which is currently being referred to as "Vijay 60," is being bankrolled by Venkatram Reddy, son of B Nagi Reddy of famous Vijaya Productions. Interestingly, Jagapathi Babu's father VB Rajendra Prasad is a close friend of Nagi Reddy.
"There is a strong bond that continues to live between me and shri. Venkatram Garu, as it rewinds heart warming memories of the past. This is a fantastic film and I am thrilled to be part of it and if dad is watching me he will be equally elated," Jagapathi Babu added.
Jagapathi Babu is playing the role of a protagonist in "Vijay 60." It may be recalled that he had done the role of a baddie in Rajinikanth's "Lingaa."
Coming to "Vijay 60," the film unit completed the first schedule of the shooting in Chennai last month. At present, the team is filming key portions in Hyderabad.
The film has Keerthy Suresh and Aparna Vinod in the female leads. Sathish, Mime Gopi, Harish Uthaman, Sharath Lohitashwa, Sreeman and YH Mahendra are also among the cast.
