The pooja, or the ceremonial launch, of the upcoming Vijay-Atlee movie "Vijay 59" will be held on 26 June.
The function will be held after Vijay returns from London, reports Behindwoods.
The showbiz website added it will be held at Kerala House in ECR, Chennai, the place where the pooja of director Atlee's movie "Raja Rani" was held.
Sources close to the film have claimed that "Vijay 59" won't be a random action flick but will be a well-packed entertainer with enough scope for comedy and romance. The shooting is expected to kick-start on 1 July.
In the movie, Vijay will be seen as a cop. He has appeared in a similar role in "Pokkiri" and "Jilla" while in "Thuppakki", the actor had played the role of an army officer.
Director Atlee has also roped in Samantha Ruth Prabhu a and Amy Jackson as the lead heroines. Samantha has earlier worked with Vijay in the hit movie "Kaththi" whereas Amy will be sharing screen space with the star for the first time.
Motta Rajendran, who gave an impeccable performance in "Darling", and veteran actress Radhikaa Sarathkumar will also be seen in "Vijay 59".
Atlee has roped in GV Prakash to compose the music for the upcoming film and sources close to the project suggest that the songs will be a mix of melody as well as mass tunes.
Reports also indicate the team has recorded a peppy number, which is going to be a popular one, like "Selfie Pulla" from "Kaththi".
Meanwhile, Vijay is also looking forward to the release of his movie "Puli" directed by Chimbudevan. The teaser of the film, which was released recently, got an overwhelming response.
