Ilayathalapathy has turned a little experimental with his roles of late, especially after taking up the warrior role in "Puli". The latest we hear is that the star is willing to try out a new style with his looks as well.
According to some reports, Vijay will try a crew-cut with a thick moustache for the upcoming movie, tentatively titled as "Vijay 59". Rumours are that the actor is confident that his look in the new Atlee directorial will be a trend-setter among his fans.
Sources have confirmed that Vijay will be seen in the role of a police officer. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who had worked with Vijay in "Kaththi", and "I" heroine Amy Jackson will play lead in the upcoming entertainer.
Meanwhile, film-maker J Mahendran is roped in as the villain opposite Vijay in the film.
"Vijay 59" is made with a budget of over ₹100 crore and to the delight of fans, music composer GV Prakash Kumar has announced that the film has two songs sung by Vijay. He also added that the audience will get to watch Vijay dance to a local number.
The movie also stars Prabhu, Azhagam Perumal and Kaali Venkat. The shooting of the film has reportedly been planned for 140 days and will begin by the first week of July.
"Vijay 59", which is touted as an emotionally-packed entertainer, is produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
