Vijay's upcoming film, "Kaththi", is yet to release, but reports about the actor's next film (referred as "Vijay 58") have already been doing the rounds for the last few months.
According to latest reports, "Vijay 58" will go on floors in November. Sources have stated the film will be launched in Chennai on 8 November and the shooting will commence in Kerala, reported Cinemalead.
The Vijay starrer is expected to be shot in never-before-seen locations across India including hinterlands of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh. An official announcement regarding the project is still awaited.
There is a huge buzz about "Vijay 58," which is touted to be a fantasy-action entertainer. For the first time, Vijay is teaming up with director Chimbudevan who has helmed the Vadivelu-starrer "Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi" and Raghava Lawrence's "Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam."
"Vijay 58" (Vijay's 58th film) boasts of an ensemble cast including Sridevi, Sudeep of "Naan Ee" fame, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani among others. Sridevi, who made her comeback to the silverscreen with 2012-release "English Vinglish," will be returning to the Tamil film industry after several years.
Shruti Haasan will be seen paired opposite Vijay for the first time, while it will be Hansika's second film with the actor after "Velayudham."
Vijay is currently busy with the shooting of "Kaththi." The action thriller flick, directed by AR Murugadoss, is expected to be wrapped up soon. The film is carrying huge expectations and it is all set to hit the screens during Diwali.
After completing his work for "Kaththi," Vijay will shift his focus on the Chimbudevan directorial. "Vijay 58" cinematography will be handled by Natraj of "Sathuranga Vettai" fame, while it is edited by Sreekar Prasad.
Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the sound tracks, whereas Muthuraj will be taking care of art direction.
The fantasy entertainer will reportedly be made with a budget of around ₹90 crore and will be the costliest project in Vijay's career. Shibu of Thameens Films and PT Selvakumar, Vijay's long-time associate, will be producing the big-budget entertainer.
