Vijay is one of the few actors, whose market is growing outside Tamil Nadu. Hence, his films have started doing well in other states. Now, he is all set to test his luck in Bollywood.
This news might be surprising for many as Vijay always loved the comfort of satisfying his Tamil fans and never liked the idea of working in Hindi films. Well, he is not going to act in a Hindi flick, rather his 58th film will be dubbed in Hindi.
The forthcoming movie, which is called by the name "Vijay 58", has Sridevi, Sudeep and Shruti Haasan in key roles. This ensemble cast, which are familiar faces in Bollywood, is one of the strong reasons, which is making the makers to dub in Bollywood.
Most of the Vijay's recent movies have been dubbed into Hindi. But the interesting part of the story is that his latest film will have its theatrical release and is likely to be released simultaneously in Bollywood along with the Tamil and Telugu versions.
"Vijay 58" is being made with a budget of ₹75 crore. The idea of Hindi release seems to be a good move as it will help the film recover some reasonable amount including the revenue from satellite rights. As per the trade standards, a dubbed theatrical version will be sold for a better price than the films that are premiered on TV.
The forthcoming movie is not a regular commercial entertainer, but a fantasy-adventure flick produced by PT Selvakumar and Shibu.
Sridevi plays the role of a queen and Sudeep, her commander son, who is the antagonist in the flick. Details about Vijay's character have not been revealed yet, but there were reports that he was set to play the role of a dwarf.
The multilingual film will be released next summer.
