Vijay's upcoming film "Kaththi" is yet to hit the screens, but the buzz surrounding the actor's next project has started doing the rounds.
It is well known that Vijay will be teaming up with director Chimbudevan for his next project referred "Vijay 58" (actor's 58th film). There were speculations in the media that the film has been titled "Maarisan". However, sources close to the film have denied it, reported The Times of India.
"Vijay 58" has created huge expectations, even before it could go on floors. The film, touted as a fantasy-based entertainer, will reportedly be made with a whopping budget of ₹90 crore. Vijay will be working with director Chimbudevan for the first time. The director is known for making comedy entertainers like "Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi" and "Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam" among others.
"Vijay 58" boasts of a big star cast, including veteran actress Sridevi, Sudeep of "Naan Ee" fame, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani.
Sridevi, who made a comeback to Bollywood with "English Vinglish", is set to return to the Tamil film industry after several years.
"Vijay 58" will be Shruti's first film with Vijay, while it will be Hansika's second project with Ilayathalapathy after the 2011 release "Velayudham".
Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the soundtracks for the film, while cinematographer Natraj of "Sathuranga Vettai" fame will be handling the camera work. The big budget entertainer will be produced by Shibu of Thammens Films and PT Selvakumar, a long-time associate of Vijay.
The film is expected to go on floors in November. An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be made after the release of "Kaththi."
Meanwhile, the shooting of "Kaththi" is completely wrapped up and the film is in the post-production stage. The Murugadoss directorial is slated to hit the screens during Diwali festival period.
