The makers of Vijay's forthcoming movie, which is presently referred to by the name "Vijay 58", seem to have finally decided on the film's title following the actor's approval.
If rumour mills are to be believed, it will be titled "Garuda", after the actor gave his consent.
In recent times, many titles were doing the rounds, from which the makers had short-listed three names: "Maareesan," "Garuda" and "Porvaal".
It seems like they have finally zeroed in on "Garuda". Vijay is reportedly happy with the name.
A formal announcement is likely to be made in January 2015 but it is not sure whether they will announce the name for the New Year or wait till Pongal.
It is interesting to note that director Chimbudevan had opted for lengthy titles for his earlier films like "Oru Kanniyum Moondru Kalavanigalum", "Arai Enn 305il Kadavul" and "Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi".
The forthcoming Vijay starrer has a mega-budget, with some reports saying it could be close to ₹90-crore, as it is a fantasy-adventure. The makers are apparently not willing to compromise on any aspect. Be it costumes or artistes, they are spending huge money to have the best names onboard.
This is evident with the makers signing Kannada superstar Sudeep for a whopping ₹6 crore remuneration. The movie also has Bollywood and Tamil's yesteryear actress Sridevi as a queen and mother of Sudeep.
Vijay will be the protagonist and Hansika Motwani as his princess in the forthcoming flick along with Shruti Haasan playing in a key role. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Natarajan Subramaniam is handling the cinematography department and Kasi Vishwanathan is taking care of editing.
