Bollywood's leading stylist Manish Malhotra has been roped in to design costumes for Vijay's upcoming movie, which is tentatively called – "Vijay 58".
The stylist is returning to Kollywood after four years. He had earlier worked in Rajinikanth's blockbusters "Sivaji" and "Endhiran – The Robot"
"After' Robot' styling for a Tamil film :-) On my way to Chennai," Malhotra announced the news on Twitter without revealing the name of the film. His other tweet mentioned that he is going to design Sridevi Kapoor's costumes.
He posted, "Feels like when I started my career as a costume designer: Chennai Film shoot with my favourite@SrideviKapoor :-)"
Sridevi is making her comeback to Kollywood with "Vijay 58" and it is easily understood that he is designing costumes for Ilayathalapathy's flick.
In "Vijay 58", the yesteryear sensational actress will play the role of a queen and the mother of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, the commander of the kingdom. The makers of the movie are taking extra care to give a beautiful look to her character.
The movie has hit the floors recently and the shooting is currently taking place in Chennai. A massive set has been erected on the ECR where a song is being shot.
"Vijay 58" is a fantasy adventure made with a budget of ₹75+ crore. While the movie is produced by PT Selvakumar and Shibu of Thameen Films, it is written and directed by Chimbudevan.
In the technical department, Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the music, Natarajan Subramaniam for cinematography and Sreekar Prasad for editing.
Apart from Sridevi, Sudeep and Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Shruti Haasan will also play key roles in the upcoming movie. Prabhu, Thambi Ramaiah and Vidyullekha Raman too appear in supporting roles.
The untitled film will hit the screens worldwide next summer.
