Actor Vidyut Jamwal has apparently miffed two superstar Khans of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
In Bollywood, actors wait for an opportunity to work with two of the biggest stars of Hindi film industry. But Jamwal has turned down films offers featuring Shah Rukh and Salman, which has apparently angered the two superstars.
Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan offered Jamwal a role in her upcoming film "Happy New Year" which features SRK, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani in lead roles. But the actor turned down the offer.
Later he was approached for the role of Salman's younger brother in Sooraj Barjatya's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" but he declined that offer also. Now, the director has roped in Neil Nitin Mukesh to play that role.
The actor wants to do solo-lead projects and he is in talks with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi for the same, according to reports.
"After showcasing his strength and skill in Force, Commando and Bullett Raja, the actor now wants to do solo roles. Moreover, Vidyut has been openly talking about refusing films starring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, and this has annoyed the superstars," a source told Mid-Day.
The "Commando" apparently wants to work in solo-lead films opposite top leading actresses of B-town.
"Recently, some filmmakers approached him and he made it clear to them that he wanted to be cast opposite top actresses," the source added.
But sources close to the actor and his spokesperson have denied the reports. Sources close to Jamwal said that the actor turned down the offers for both the films as he has already assigned his dates to Tigmanshu Dhulia for the film, "Yaara".
Earlier in February, Jamwal clarified that he refused to take the role in Sooraj Barjatya's film only because of date issues. But a tabloid reported that Jamwal rejected the offer because the character's role has shades of grey.
"Neil is not the archetypal younger brother. His character is not negative but has shades of grey. Apparently, that was the reason Vidyut turned down the role," The Times of India reported quoting a source.
Meanwhile, Jamwal is not the only actor who has turned down big offers. Apparently, Parineeti Chopra has also refused movie roles with the three Khans.
"I've turned down many films with the Khans. I didn't do those films because I had nothing to do in them. They were the hero's films. Had I done them, I would've been in the big league. But right now, I want to work in films where I have enough to do and show how well I can act," Chopra told Filmfare in an interview.
