Vidyut Jammwal will soon be seen in the upcoming movie "Commando 2", with shooting for the film beginning on Wednesday. It is a sequel to Vidyut's 2013 action film "Commando", which also starred Pooja Chopra and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Produced by Vipul Shah, "Commando 2" is being directed by Deven Bhojani. "We are very proud to take the film into a sequel. Obviously, now we have a bigger responsibility to live up to the challenge of making it bigger and better," IANS quoted Vipul Shah as saying.
Vidyut, too, shared his excitement and expressed gladness to be working with Deven and Vipul. "Vipul sir is the man who understands action and can make superlative action films. I have seen Deven Bhojani sir's action serial 'Pukar'. I was floored and have been seeing the detailed work he has put in. It is excellent," said Vidyut.
The makers of "Commando 2" have promised the sequel will take things to a different level and will be a treat for both the Indian audience as well as viewers abroad. The original film had had an average run at the box office, but Vidyut was highly praised for his action skills in the movie.
While there has not been any confirmation on the full cast of "Commando 2", there were reports that the sequel would have a completely new cast, keeping the lead actor unchanged.
Earlier, Vipul had said Akshay Kumar would be a part of "Commando 2", not as a cast member but as a consultant and adviser. "Akshay is the best action hero in the country. He was the most excited when we started 'Commando' with Vidyut, and in fact, we would have liked Akshay to be more participative in 'Commando'. However, he was too busy. But now in 'Commando 2', we definitely intend to bring Akshay in," Vipul told IANS.
