Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is reportedly in talks with the producer of Rajinikanth's next film to play the female lead. The film will be directed by Pa Ranjith.
It was initially said that there won't be any heroine in the upcoming film surprising movie buffs, as glamour has always been an important element of the superstar's films. Later, it was said that 31-year-old Nayantara was approached and that she had bagged the role.
However, producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu recently denied signing Nayantara but confirmed that there is a female lead in the movie, without divulging more.
The latest buzz is that the makers have approached Vidya Balan to play the female lead in the untitled movie. The producer is supposedly in talks with the actress.
Vidya Balan had earlier said that she was willing to debut in Tamil if the right script comes her way. She had also evinced interest in working with Rajinikanth.
It was rumoured that she was approached to play the female lead in the superstar's motion-capture technology film. But she had denied it.
The movie is likely to take off in August with a 60-day shooting schedule in Malayasia, where a major part of the film will be shot. The film is reportedly about gangsters, though different from regular, commercial movies.
The movie will be made in Pa Ranjith's style, and the usual elements of Rajinikanth's films are unlikely to be seen in the flick, which has Santhosh Narayanan's music, Santhish's cinematography and Praveen KL's editing.
