Home grown consumer electronics conglomerate, Videocon on Tuesday (16 September) unveiled new Infinium smartphone series at Bengaluru.
The company in its bid to capture more share in the burgeoning Indian smartphone market, has launched Infinium Z40 Quad (₹5,490), Z40 Pro (₹4,599), Z40 Pro Lite (₹3,950), Infinium Z30 (₹3,850), X40 Pro (₹3,750), X30 Pro (₹3,990) and X30 (₹3,190).
First up, Infinium X40 series devices boast of 4.0-inch WVGA (480x800p) resolution screen and come packed with Android OS powered by a dual-core processor backed by 256MB RAM, 512MB memory (expandable up to 32GB) and also houses 3.2-megapixel camera and a VGA front camera.
X30 series smartphones feature less superior specifications like 3.5-inch HVGA screen (320x480p) and 1GHz processor with a 1,300 mAh battery. [Get more details, HERE]
On the other hand, Infinium Z40 series devices are more premium than the X-series handsets, they come with bigger 4.0-inch screen, dual-cameras, 1,400 mAh plus battery capacity, 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory. [Get more details HERE]
Besides the Z and X series smartphones, the company has plans to release more premium Infinium Graphite series smartphones and V-Style feature phones (with dual-cameras).
The Infinium Graphite smartphone is said to boast of 5.0-megapixel front camera, 1GB RAM, quad-core processor and a 2,000 mAh battery, under ₹10,000 price range which is expected to hit markets during the upcoming Diwali holiday season.
With the release of new phones, the company has envisioned to capture 10% market share in few months backed by good after-sale services, which seems to be lacking for other domestic players in the market.
Besides setting goals for PAN Indian market, the company has also set targets to achieve a more user base in Karnataka and other South Indian states as well.
