Videocon Infinium Graphite: Budget Android KitKat Smartphone Launched in India; Price, Specification Details

Home grown consumer electronics major, Videocon has released an affordable Android KitKat smartphone dubbed as Infinium Graphite in to the Indian market.

"With the Infinium Graphite we are pushing the boundaries of affordable flagship devices, with which we aim to capture the emerging budget smartphone market of the country. Today consumers are much awake to the fact that cutting-edge features can be experienced in budget prices, and thus are preferring devices which offer them this niche," said Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones.

"With our Infinium range we are out redefining the Indian smartphone market which is now expanding from the Tier-I markets and is percolating into the Tier-II, III & IV markets. It is these budget markets which form our focus markets where we seek to elevate the smartphone experience with our latest offering," he added.

The new Videocon Infinium Graphite sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) LTPS screen with Gorilla Glass 3 shield and comes with Android v4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, it ships with 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 1,800 mAh battery. On the imaging front, it boasts of 8.0-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor BSI sensor, LED flash and a feature-rich 5.0-megapixel snapper with 88-degree Wide Angle BSI Sensor on the front, which is specifically incorporated to attract selfie aficionados.

Competition:

The company in its bid to give stiff challenge to rivals, has kept a competitive price-tag of just ₹10,499 for Videocon Infinium Graphite. It will be up against the popular Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Moto G (both Gen 1. and Gen 2.), Asus Zenfone 4 (and 5), Samsung Galaxy Core, Nokia Lumia 630 Dual, Micromax Canvas Turbo and many other domestic and MNC brands.
