TVS Akula 310, a bike that made its appearance at the Auto Expo last year, is to be launched in the country soon. Biking enthusiasts in India have been waiting patiently for buzz on the second product from the TVS-BMW Motorrad alliance. Well, the bike is very much on its way to the market.
Having got an eyeful of TVS Akula 310 through numerous spy shots and videos on the web, there are more yet. Now comes another video of TVS Akula 310. This time the bike depicted being chased by a new KTM 390 Duke and not surprisingly at a thrilling speed of 125kmph. Akula 310, rumoured to be monikered as Apache RR 310S in the production avatar, was spied cruising on the Chennai-Bangalore highway.
Although KTM Duke 390 is not competing with the new Akula 310 in the market, the pricing of the latter could be at par with the KTM 390 Duke.

Akula 310 is expected to be powered by a 310cc engine capable of producing 34bhp of power and will come with a six-speed gearbox. This is the same engine that also does duty in the BMW G 310 R. TVS Motor Company is looking to launch the Apache RTR 310 in July this year and production-specs indicate the bike will be the fastest and most powerful motorcycle of TVS. The Apache RR310S will get upside down front forks, DRLs, LED taillamps and ABS.
The price of the TVS Apache RTR 300 is expected to fall in the affordable range as the bike is being made in India at the company's plant in Hosur, close to the city of Bengaluru. It could be priced under Rs 2 lakh.
