A video has been released online that shows the moment a road rage brawl broke out between two Uber drivers and a passenger in central London. The footage was captured by 43-year-old PR boss Seb Bench as he was a passenger in one of the Uber cars in Angel, Islington. According to Bench, a fight between two Uber drivers began when a Toyota Prius driven by an Uber driver tried to cut in on another Uber vehicle, a BMW, causing this vehicle to clip its wing mirror on a passing lorry.
Both drivers are seem to leave their vehicles to remonstrate with one another before the passenger of the Prius, who can be seen wearing a pink shirt, shoves the BMW driver to the ground and punches him repeatedly.
Bench posted the video online, stating: From left to right – passenger of other Uber – his driver – my driver! Over a wing mirror! The video has gone viral since first being published online on 5 August, having since been retweeted more than 190 times on Twitter.
A spokesperson for Uber said: Uber has a zero-tolerance policy to violence from both riders and drivers on the platform and we have reached out to those involved to get more information. With all incidents of a serious nature, its our policy to suspend all parties from the platform while we investigate.
