Holidaymakers came to the rescue of a juvenile great white shark after it managed to beach itself when attempting to feast on seagulls on the coast of Chatham, Massachusetts.
A group of people on the eastern US beach grouped together on Monday 13 July to keep the 7ft juvenile alive by tipping buckets of water on it while it was stranded on land until authorities arrived, as the video shows. Despite being one of the most feared predators, onlookers could not help feel sorry for the helpless shark and jumped to its rescue.
Eventually, it was dragged back to the sea after a rescue party tied a rope around it and pulled it back. However, before doing so it was fitted with a GPS tracking device so its progress could be monitored, according to the Telegraph.
The ferocious predator was stranded for an hour and a half before it was reunited with the ocean.
