VH1's 'Hit The Floor' star Stephanie Moseley and her rapper husband were found dead in an upscale apartment complex in Los Angeles on Monday.
The Los Angeles Police Department suspects that it might be a murder-suicide case. In response to the news, VH1 released a statement Monday evening: "We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stephanie Moseley. VH1 and the entire Hit The Floor family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time."
According to Deadline, LAPD homicide detectives said that it appears like the dancer-cum-actress was shot dead by her husband Earl Hayes, who was a member of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather's Money Team, after which he must have killed himself.
TMZ learnt that residents of the posh locality near The Grove heard a couple of shots early Monday morning. The SWAT team reached the spot after sometime. When no one responded, the team knocked down the door of the house and discovered the bodies of the couple.
Hayes was signed up by Mayweather's record label and was often spotted partying with Floyd. Moseley, 30, has worked as a backup dancer with many singers like Chris Brown and Britney Spears.
Celebrities such as Ashley Tisdale, 50 Cent and Chris Brown mourned her death. They remembered her for her beauty, kindness and talent, US Magazine reports.
VH1 said that the actress was to return for the Season 3 of the cheerleader drama series that was renewed for another season in July. Production on the new season is yet to begin.
Investigators have requested anyone with information on the shooting to come forward and contact the West Bureau Homicide Detectives Scott Masterson or Rolondo Rodriguez at (213) 382-940. If someone wishes to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
