Veteran actor Dilip Kumar has been discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati hospital. The actor was admitted to the hospital on Saturday morning after he complained of respiratory problems.
Wearing a light pink shirt, Dilip was wheeled out of the hospital at around 12 p.m. IST on Thursday. He was accompanied by his wife and yesteryear actress Saira Banu and other family members, according to reports.
"Dilip sir has been discharged and he is back home. He is feeling better now," Saira's manager Murshid Khan told IANS.
The veteran actor suffered high fever and was vomiting on Saturday morning, following which he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital. Initially, there were reports that he was diagnosed with pneumonia; however, doctors later said that he had high fever.
Earlier, he was expected to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday evening, but doctors decided to discharge him on Thursday, as they felt morning would be a better time for discharge.
"Dilip Kumar is doing well and he is healthy. His reports are normal. We have decided to discharge him tomorrow morning as opposed to today keeping in mind the patient's comfort," Dr Jalil Parker told the media, according to the Press Trust of India.
Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan visited the actor in Lilavati hospital. Aamir and Big B spent time with the actor and his family at the hospital.
"Allah's mercy and blessings on all for keeping me in your duas. Thank you @aamir_khan for spending time," Dilip tweeted.
