Piaggio has launched a limited edition scooter in India christened as Vespa Notte at Rs 68,845 (ex-showroom Pune). The limited-edition Vespa Notte is the new most affordable Vespa scooter in India and it has been priced around Rs 4,000 cheaper than the Vespa 125 VXL.
Revealed at the Auto Expo 2018 in February, Vespa Notte celebrates the beauty of black colour. The Notte word in Italian means night and the Matte Black colour is exclusive to the limited edition. The limited edition also boasts of an exclusive 'Vespa Notte' logo in addition to the black mirrors, black grab rail and 11-inch black wheels.
As part of the cost-cutting, the Vespa Notte comes without front disc brake. The limited edition gets tube-type tyres instead of the tubeless tyres. It is powered by a 125 cc, air-cooled engine that also does duty in all the 125cc Vespa models as well as in the Aprilia SR 125. The mill develops 10bhp of power and 10.6Nm of peak torque mated to a CVT transmission.
Vespa Notte will go up against Aprilia SR 125 (Rs 66,764), Honda Grazia (Rs 63,994), TVS Ntorq (Rs 59,650) and the newly launched Suzuki Burgman Street (Rs 68,000), all prices, ex-showroom Delhi.
"Piaggio is delighted to launch the special edition Vespa Notte 125cc in India. This is an addition to the unique design and cutting-edge technology of Brand Vespa. The elegance of the brand is carried ahead by the all-black theme; it reflects and echoes the spirit of life and freedom and will win the hearts of our Vespa fans," said Diego Graffi, CEO and MD Piaggio India.
The limited-edition Vespa Notte is available at all Vespa / Aprilia showrooms across India. Piaggio also claims the Vespa Notte is available for an attractive down payment of INR 8,999/- and buyers can also avail benefits worth on PayTm Mall.
