Vespa, the brand of scooters manufactured by Italian company Piaggio has rescheduled launch date of the 946 Emporio Armani and 70th Anniversary edition scooters in India to November 15. Earlier, the launch of the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani and 70th Anniversary edition was planned for October, but it was delayed due to unknown reasons.
While the 70th anniversary edition of Vespa was launched to celebrate the company's milestone, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani, the limited edition variant of the 946 was launched to mark the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Giorgio Armani as well as the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group. The Emporio Armani will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The sophisticated Vespa 946 Emporio Armani scooter will be one of the most expensive scooters in the Indian market when launched and scooter is expected to be retailed at a price point of Rs 8 lakh.
The stylish Vespa 946 Emporio Armani sports an exclusive colour scheme and flaunts grey wheels, dark brown leather wrapped seats, and chrome finished rack at the rear for holding a bag. The Emporio Armani logo has been added at the rear, sides, and above the headlamp. It gets LED headlamps and tail lamps with LCD instrument panel.
At the heart of the Emporio Armani is a 4-stroke 125cc 3Valve monocylinder engine. The engine is tuned to churn out 11.7hp at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 10.3Nm torque at 7000rpm. On the safety front, Vespa 946 Emporio Armani features ABS, traction control system, Anti Slip Regulator and disc brakes in front and rear. The Emporio Armani edition will get Michelin tyres with 220mm disc brake for both wheels.
