The first teaser of Guru has been released on Venkatesh's birthday (13 December). It is a 39-second video that gives a glimpse of the hero's character in the forthcoming Telugu flick.
Venkatesh is seen sporting a beard with moustache. The clip does not give much about his character, yet the video leaves a good impact on the viewers.
Guru is an official remake of Sudha Kongara Prasad's bilingual movie titled Saala Khadoos in Hindi and Irudhi Suttru in Tamil. Both the versions were received well by the audience everywhere and have made a decent collection at the worldwide box office. Madhavan and Ritika Singh played the leads in both the Hindi and Tamil versions.
Sudha Kongara Prasad, the creator of the original, is remaking it in Telugu with Venkatesh stepping into the shoes of Madhavan. Ritika Singh reprises the same role.
Guru has Santhosh Narayanan's music, KA Sakthivel's cinematography and Sathish Suriya's editing. The shooting was kick-started in September and it was wrapped up recently. The post-production works are on and the flick will hit the screens on 26 January.
The movie tells the story of a talented boxer who fails to make it big due to the dirty politics in the boxing association. He turns a coach for the women's boxing teams 10 years later. How he trains a roadside fish seller, Madhi (Ritika Singh), and makes her a champion despite poor infrastructure forms the crux of the story.
Venkatesh turns 56
The actor is turning 56 on Tuesday, 13 December. Fans of the actor across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are celebrating the day by cutting cakes.
