The title of Ajith's upcoming movie, "Vedalam" (Vedhalam), was supposed to be announced on Ganesh Chathurthi, 17 September, but it was postponed at the last minute as the makers could not sort out some issues in time, causing the delay in the announcement of the film's name.
Now, we have more updates on the title. The latest buzz is that "Vedalam" was originally registered by Raghava Lawrence for one of his upcoming movies. The multi-faceted actor is working with debutant director Soori and had reportedly zeroed in on the aforementioned title.
On the other end, the makers of Ajith's movie, after a lot of consideration, decided to name their film "Vedalam". They soon found out that Raghava Lawrence had his eyes on the title. However, when Ajith's team approached him, Lawrence said he had no problem in giving away the title to them.
It is being said that Raghava Lawrence respects Ajith a lot and gave the title to the "Mankatha" star as a gift. This gesture has been highly appreciated by the audience.
The name "Vedalam" (meaning: ghost in English) has surprised many fans as it doesn't seem to fit the family-oriented theme of the movie. The fans of Ajith are not really worried as they believe the names that start with the word 'V' bring a lot of luck to the actor.
Some of the films of Ajith Kumar that start with the letter 'V' are "Varalaaru", "Vaali" and "Veeram". The fans hope that like these films, the latest "Vedalam" will also become a big hit at the box office.
"Vedalam" has been written and directed by Siruthai Siva. AM Rathnam has produced the movie. it will light the screens for Diwali. However, the audio, teaser and trailer of the flick are yet to be released.
