Ajith is set to prove that he is the King of openings in Kollywood. Thala's latest movie "Vedalam" aka "Vedhalam" is game for an earth-shattering opening at Tamil Nadu box office on Tuesday, 10 November.
The early prediction coming out from the trade reports say that "Vedalam" will easily make Rs 20 crore if the advance booking is taken into consideration. This is an early estimation and the actual collection is likely to be much higher than the aforementioned business.
The traders have taken the advance booking in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and a few other overseas centres into the account. "Vedalam" is releasing is 520+ screens in the state alone and about 450 screens in 35 countries. The total screen count is expected to reach 1000 worldwide.
The industry is impatiently looking forward for "Vedalam" release to see whether the Ajith starrer sets new benchmark at the box office or not. The early response indicates that the movie might probably become the biggest opener of 2015.
The tickets for the next five days have been sold in Chennai and Bengaluru and hence, it is safe to say that the Tamil movie will have a great five-day holiday weekend.
However, due to the depression in the Bay of Bengal heavy rains are expected in Chennai for the next few days, starting on Monday. It is unclear how much the weather will play spoilsport for "Vedalam".
"Vedalam" is an action-entertainer written and directed Siruthai Siva. Shruthi Haasan is playing female lead in the movie, which is bankrolled by AM Rathnam. Kabir Duhan Singh, Lakshmi Menon, Ashwin, Rahul Dev and many others are in the cast.
