Ajith and Shruthi Haasan's upcoming movie "Vedalam" is prepping for a wide release overseas. The Tamil movie is all set to release in a large number of screens.
The early buzz is that "Vedalam" will be released in about 550 screens at the international centres. The movie is expected to be released in 120 screens in North America, 200+ in the Europe, 50+ in Middle East and Africa, 30+ in Sri Lanka and about 150 screens in the Asia-Pacific region. Please note that these are estimated figures and the actual are yet to be released by the makers of the flick.
The buzz also says that "Vedalam" will be released in 58 screens alone in the UK. Recently, "Puli" was also planned to be released in 58 screens, but eventually it was released in 62 screens. The increase in the screen count can happen in the final moments before the release.
It is also set to create history in Poland by becoming the first Tamil movie to be released in the nation. "Vedalam" will also be released in notable number of screens in Australia and Canada. The screen count is expected to cross 40 in Malaysia.
Advance Booking
The advance booking for "Vedalam" has kick-started with leading Chennai theatres, including Kasi, have started selling tickets online. It has received an earth-shattering response from Ajith's fans.
Not just in Chennai, the advance booking has kicked off in foreign countries, including Indonesia and Denmark. Despite facing competition from Kamal Haasan's "Thoongavanam", the Ajith starrer is creating ripples in Kollywood.
"Vedalam" is being promoted as a family entertainer in foreign countries. The movie has been written and directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by AM Rathnam.
