Megastar Mammootty and lady superstar Nayantara's Malayalam movie Puthiya Niyamam opened to positive response from the audience, thanks to its theme that urges women to speak out against the social evils they face. The AK Saajan-directorial is being dubbed into Telugu language as Vasuki, the character name of Nayantara in the revenge thriller.

The makers have now released the trailer of Vasuki, much different from the promo video of its Malayalam version. We have also noticed something strange. Why is Mammootty missing in the one-minute-22-second trailer, which is all about Nayan's character Vasuki? Yes, the movie is about her and the trauma she undergoes, but how can the makers completely omit Mammookka's character from it? Isn't his character Louis Pothan very important, being the man, who supports Vasuki throughout?
One possible reason for this can be the megastar's lower popularity in Tollywood. Even though the actor doesn't have a good market in the industry, isn't he is one of the most respected actors in Indian cinema? Looking at the social media response, netizens, especially the fans of Mammootty, are of course furious about it. "whr is our mega star mammootty in this trailer?? who is edited this trailer?? who is that stupid editor ?? [sic]," a netizen commented. "By avoiding megastar in trailer the makers are trying to fix it as a Telugu made movie otherthan dubbing [sic]," another twitterati stated.
Meanwhile, social media users have also pointed out that similarly, in the trailer of Murugavel, the Tamil dubbed version of Mohanlal's Laila O Laila, the superstar was also missing. "Same in the case of Complete Actor who is not found in Laila O Laila Tamil trailer [sic]," commented a netizen.
