Last year, Dharma Productions had announced that Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty will come together for the remake of "Ram Lakhan."
However, till recently, there was no announcement regarding the film's making. But now, news of Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra being finalised for the film have started doing the rounds.
"Karan Johar's favourites, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have been finalised for the Ram Lakhan remake. An official announcement will be made soon," Bollywood Life quoted a source as saying.
"In this remake, Sid will reprise Jackie Shroff's role as Ram, while Varun will play Lakhan played by Anil Kapoor," the source added.
Several speculations were made for these two lead roles. Initially, there were rumours that Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn have been chosen to play these characters.
Later, "Gunday" actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh's names did the rounds. Even Anil Kapoor hinted at Ranveer – who played his son in "Dil Dhadakne Do" – when asked about who would be perfect for his 'Lakhan' character.
Though the "Student Of The Year" actors have been reportedly finalised, an official announcement is yet to be made.
Currently, both the actors are busy with their other projects.
Varun has garnered appreciation for his latest film "ABCD 2" and will be next seen in KJo's "Shuddhi" and Rohit Dhawan's "Dishoom."
Sidharth is busy promoting his upcoming film "Brothers" along with Akshay Kumar and is currently shooting for "Kapoor and Sons" along with Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan.
