Varun Dhawan is all set to become a part of the "Dream Team" concert. However, it was apparently Ranbir Kapoor who was initially supposed to be a part of the programme, and Varun replaced him.
While it was reported earlier that Ranbir had backed out of the big event as his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif too would be performing on the stage, the latest buzz said that organisers of the event have decided to replace Ranbir with Varun, considering the former's unsuccessful streak of movies. Ranbir's last movies "Tamasha," "Roy," and "Bombay Velvet" bombed at the box office.
According to a report in SpotboyE, organisers of the "Dream Team" concert thought that Ranbir is not as popular among the youth as Varun currently is. They also felt that the "Tamasha" actor does not have many recent dance numbers to perform on the stage and replaced him with Varun. The latter has been in news these days for his upcoming movie "Dishoom" that also features John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Other celebrities who are expected to perform at the "Dream Team" concert are Sidharth Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and Badshah. The event will commence on Aug. 12 and will continue till Aug. 21. The Bollywood stars will be travelling to multiple foreign locations to entertain their fans abroad. "Dream Team" concert will be held at Houston, San Jose, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.
