Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan has recently grabbed the headlines for his growing closeness with actress Lisa Haydon.
Though the actors have not worked together, rumours have been doing the rounds that they are more than just good friends.
However, things took a different turn during the promotions of Haydon's upcoming film "The Shaukeens", when she was asked about dating with the "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" star.
The actress denying the rumours went on to spill some beans on the actor's life and stated that Dhawan is already engaged to someone else, according to a Deccan Chronicle report.
Her statement didn't go well with the actor's fans who were left disappointed and heartbroken by the engagement remark.
However, the actress later took to her Twitter handle to clarify her statement.
I Am Single! @Varun_dvn is NOT engaged. Enough misinterpreting. Over. Please?

Dhawan, although miffed with the actress' statement, took the whole incident quite sportingly and replied to Haydon:
@HaydonLisa this really cracked me up. next il have children. best of luck with shaukeen miss haydon. — Varun Dhawan (@Varun_dvn) October 29, 2014
With "The Shaukeens" actress' accidental spill on Dhawan's love life, it appears like she hinted at Dhawan being dating his childhood sweetheart Natasha Dalal, a designer by profession. The "Student of the Year" star had earlier confirmed to have dated Dalal in their childhood days, but later claimed that they are just friends.
Not just Haydon, the "Main Tera Hero" actor was also linked to his co-star Alia Bhatt during the shooting of their debut film "Student of the Year" (2012).
Later, Dhawan was also linked to actress Nargis Fakhri. They have worked together in "Main Tera Hero". But recently, Fakhri cleared the air when she mentioned that the only person she is romantically linked to is herself.
On the work front, the "Queen" actress Haydon will be next seen in Akshay Kumar's "The Shaukeens". Directed by Abhishek Sharma of "Tere Bin Laden" fame, the comedy entertainer is scheduled to hit the big screens on 7 November.
Meanwhile, Dhawan is currently shooting for "ABCD 2" with Shraddha Kapoor. He will also be seen in Sriram Raghavan's action thriller "Badlapur".
Besides, there were also reports that the actor has apparently bagged a project opposite Deepika Padukone in the Indian adaptation of the Hollywood film, "The Fault in Our Stars".
