Rohit Dhawan's "Dishoom" has opened in 3,000 screens across India. The hype around the film is great and it may rake in good money over the opening weekend, say trade experts.
The action-thriller has even been released in towns, where select few films are screened. Sagwara in Rajasthan, Bardoli in Gujarat, Dewas in Madhya Pradesh and Zirakpur and Punjab are some of the names, Mumbai Mirror reported.
Why the massive buzz? The film has clicked with the viewers ever since the makers put out the trailer. "'Dishoom' has been tracking well since its first promo has been out and obviously there is a lot of curiosity for the film. I reckon the film is going to open on good figures like that can easily transcend the movie to have a big weekend as well," the daily quoted a trade analyst as saying.
"Dishoom" stars Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez. While the actors play buddy cops, the leading lady essays a role with shades of grey.
While the bromance is something to look out for, the film is big on action. The makers shelled a massive Rs. 3 crore on a mid-air stunt. It's a 12-minute sequence, which had the lead stars leaning out of a chopper. Shot in Abu Dhabi, the scenes were not filmed using body doubles because Varun and John were clear that they wanted their shots to look real.
"Dishoom is my very first action film and I am delighted to be a part of the most expensive action sequence. It was very tough but I thoroughly enjoyed myself shooting for it," Varun told the Hindustan Times when asked about the sequence.
