Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are set to reunite for the sequel of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania," which has gone on floors on May 3. Director Shashank Khaitan has started the shooting of the film, titled "Badrinath Ki Dulhania," in Mumbai, and the first look video of the film has been shared by the makers on social media.
In the first-look video, a shutter, which is painted with the "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" poster, is being opened and Alia is seen walking in a mela (fair). Then, Varun appears in a bike and takes his dulhania with him. The video is an introduction to the cast of the sequel, "Badrinath Ki Dulhania."
Varun, Alia and producer Karan Johar have shown excitement about the franchise on social media. "I hear the 1st ever love franchise is in the air! @dharmamovies @karanjohar @aliaa08 is that for real?? [sic]" Varun tweeted. Alia replied: "The "dulhania" is on the move!! Is this true though?? [sic]"
Varun also tweeted: "Alia, Humpty needs his dulhania, [sic]" to which Alia quipped: "Varun! Everyone needs a Dulhania. [sic]" These tweets made fans curious, but then the announcement, that the shooting of "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" has begun, clarified that one of the most-loved Bollywood jodis would be back on-screen.
The team will also reportedly shoot in Kota and Jhansi.The recce for the film began at the beginning of this year, and it is said the actors will be presented in a different avatar, and speak in a North Indian accent.
"It's a fresh story set against a rural backdrop up North. Alia and Varun will be seen in completely new avatars. Shashank locked the script last year and has been conducting reading workshops with the leads for a month now," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
"After this Mumbai schedule, the actors will start filming the second schedule in September. The film's first love song, to be picturised on the duo in the first schedule, has already been recorded," the source added.

Meanwhile, the actors are also busy with their respective projects. Varun will be seen in Rohit Dhawan's "Dishoom," while Alia is working on Gauri Shinde's untitled film and will soon appear in Abhishek Chaubey's "Udta Punjab."
