A low-intensity blast from a suspected crude bomb was reported in Varanasi on Monday.
The explosion took place at a garbage dump in Chhittupur in Varanasi, ANI reported.
No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The bomb disposal squad has reached the spot, located near Chittupur's Irrigation colony.
"There is nothing to worry and we are yet to ascertain what was the cause of the explosion," a home department official told IANS.
IANS cited investigators stating that the blast may have occurred from some chemical or something 'which blew off' due to the extremely high temperature in Varanasi.
