Monday 4 May is known as Star Wars Day, and Vanity Fair is getting in on the fan-favourite-film with the debut of its June cover photo.
The cover and its accompanying spread, shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, features the stars of the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, including Harrison Ford, Lupita Nyongo, Adam Driver and Chewbacca.
The shoot recreates scenes from the movie, and includes many actors as their characters. Driver is photographed as next-generation bad guy Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac is a handsome Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, and Nyongos face is covered in tracking dots, used to transform the Oscar-winner into the CGI character Maz Kanata.
The JJ Abrams-directed seventh instalment in the series opens this year on 18 December. It is the first of the Star Wars films to be released after the acquisition of George Lucass Lucasfilms by Walt Disney Pictures.
The June issue of Vanity Fair will be available nationally on 12 May.
