One of the best things about Friday's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" was the revelation of how Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) ended up together. Through flashback scenes the show presented a convincing story of how the two became an item, and "Bonenzo" has now become a fan-favourite pair.
But add Bonnie's best friend Damon to the equation, and things get dramatic. Talking about how Damon's entry into their relationship will affect the pair, Michael Malarkey, the actor who plays Enzo, told Collider that their respective history with Ian Somerhalder's Damon has resulted in a lot of interesting scenes that will play out in the coming episodes.
"There are a lot of good one-liners and looks between those three," Malarkey told Collider. "Oh, man, it's a very complex thing going on with the three of them. You have Bonnie and Damon's entire history, and you have Damon and Enzo's entire history, and then you have this new but very real romantic history between Bonnie and Enzo. You've got this whole three-pronged clusterfuck going on. It makes for some great drama and some really, really tasty scenes coming up between the three of us."
The gang is now in a rush to save Bonnie's life, but they are on the clock and based on the synopsis for the upcoming episode, things don't look good for Bonnie. And if Bonnie were to die, Enzo could very well spiral out of control. The vampire might even switch off his humanity, and become a ruthless bloodsucker.
"I feel like, if she were to die, he would probably spiral uncontrollably, and maybe even switch his humanity off and become a nutcase," Malarkey said. "Because he's spent however many years he's been alive in and out of an orphanage, on the streets, dying of tuberculosis, being a vampire, having nobody, thinking he's found his family with Lily and the Heretics, to not having that, and then finally finding something genuine, I feel like he's at the peak of something right now."
"The Vampire Diaries" is aired on Fridays on the CW. The next episode is titled "Kill 'Em All" and it will see Bonnie's condition getting worse. However, their plan to save the Bennett witch will take an unexpected turn when Damon does something that will forever change his relationship with her.
