Thursday's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" finally revealed who Bonnie ends up with in the future, and as predicted, it turned out to be Enzo.
The three-year time-jump showed Bonnie at some kind of a mental institution and she was seen talking about some mistake she did that cost the life of a dear one. When she gets back to her room, we see Enzo waiting for her and they start making out.
It is still a mystery how the two get together, as Bonnie still hates him in the present-day world.
Commenting on the Bonnie-Enzo relationship, executive producer Julie Plec wrote in her weekly "Julie's Diary" that the two share a fun spark that they wanted to explore.
"The idea to put Bonnie and Enzo together in the flash-forwards was born out of their scene last season at the door of the Salvatore House where she calls him a 'ruiner.' They had such a fun spark and good energy together, we thought it would be an interesting dynamic to explore," Plec pointed out.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode, entitled "Best Served Cold", will see Damon and Stefan meeting Julian, their mother's one true love.
Lily hosts a dinner party for Julian and hopes to declare peace between Stefan and Damon, and her Heretic family.
"Damon and Stefan find themselves at an impasse when they realize they have differing views on how to handle Julian's arrival," the official synopsis reads. "At the party, Bonnie and Matt uncover a strange mystery involving some unsuspecting residents, while a devastating revelation causes Alaric to reach his breaking point. Caroline and Enzo also appear."
Based on an interview that Plec gave to TVLine, it looks like "The Vampire Diaries" fans are in for more shocks and surprises in the upcoming two episodes of the CW drama.
On being asked if she can reveal something about Stefan and Caroline that she hasn't already, Plec replied: "I would say Stefan and Caroline are part of one of the bigger surprises of the season, which we'll unfold around Episode 6 or 7. It's a bit of a fun curveball to throw their way."
"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays on the CW.
