It looks like Bonnie and Damon's relationship has been damaged beyond repair and she'll never forgive him for choosing the easy way out and locking himself in a coffin for three years.
Friday's episode saw her slamming the door on his face, and Damon will now have to work really hard to mend their friendship. Luckily for him, next week's episode titled "Somebody That I Used to Know" will provide the perfect opportunity.
Enzo and Bonnie will reluctantly reach out to Damon when they realise that Rayna may hold the key to Bonnie's survival, and the eldest Salvatore brother will do his best to make Bonnie forgive him for giving so little value to their friendship. Attempts to save Bonnie's life will be the focus of the next three episodes, as all the former residents of Mystic Falls will come together to save Bonnie. This may eventually result in Stefan and Caroline working together and realising what their relationship could have been.
Next Friday's episode will also reveal how Bonnie and Enzo ended up together. "One of the biggest bridgebacks that we owe is the story of how Bonnie ended up in the asylum and how the hell she and Enzo ended up as a couple and that's episode 19, which I love. It's a really great Bonnie-Enzo centric love story episode, and it's fun to watch," executive producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly.
Elsewhere in the episode, fans will see Stefan travelling to Dallas and dealing with Alaric, who wants to stay away from everything supernatural, and Enzo learning the real motives behind their search for Bonnie.
As for whether Bonnie will forgive Damon, it's still a mystery. But according to Plec, Bonnie is still carrying around Damon's goodbye letter to remind herself not to trust anyone, especially the Salvatore brother, anymore.
"The Vampire Diaries" airs Fridays on the CW.
