Friday's episode of the CW's "The Vampire Diaries" will see Stefan in a life or death situation post the destruction of the Phoenix Stone. The episode is titled "I Went to the Woods" and the younger Salvatore brother will race against time as he tries to get back to his brother and friends.
The synopsis for the episode reveals that everyone will be searching for Stefan, and each of them have their own reasons for finding him. Rayna, too, embarks on a search for Stefan after she realises the emergence of a new threat. This new threat, according to spoilers, is a serial killer vampire who has taken over Stefan's body.
While this new vampire's identity is still a mystery, a section of fans believe it could be Rayna's lover whom she had to put inside the Phoenix Stone.
Friday's episode, directed by Julie Plec, will not feature Kat Graham's Bonnie, Candice Accola's Caroline and Michael Malarkey's Enzo.
The official synopsis for the episode also hints that Damon has done irreversible damage to his relationship with Stefan. However, he won't rest until his brother is freed, and Damon will follow an unusual lead he has come across to help Stefan get back.
Meanwhile, the synopsis for episode 18 titled "One Way or Another" states that Damon and Alaric will once again team up. "Determined to capture an escaped vampire named Ambrose, who may be the key to getting Stefan back safely, Damon heads to Memphis with Alaric in tow," the synopsis reads, according to Wikia. "However, reluctant to step back into his former vampire hunting ways, Alaric makes his unwillingness to participate clear, while revealing the truth about the past three Damon-less years of his life."
Elsewhere, Bonnie will meet a woman named Virginia who provides some valuable intel about The Armory, and Enzo will learn some devastating news from Rayna.
