Season 7 of the CW's "The Vampire Diaries" will premiere on 8 October, and the first episode of the season is reportedly entitled "22,190 Days."
According to "The Vampire Diaries" wikia, the title could be a reference to Damon's promise to Elena that he will wait for her for the next 60 years. The number 22,190 is approximately 60 years and 9 months.
As viewers of "The Vampire Diaries" know, season 6 ended with Kai casting a sleeping spell on Elena and linking her life with Bonnie's in such a way that Elena will not wake up as long as Bonnie was alive.
The new season will see Elena's friends and her boyfriend Damon trying to move on in life. But life won't be peaceful, thanks to Lily's Salvatore's "family" – the heretics.
The new villains of season 7 of "The Vampire Diaries" made their debut in the previous season, and now that Lily has reunited with her family, life in Mystic Falls is going to be difficult for everyone.
On more than one occasion Lily has told her sons -- Damon and Stefan -- that the heretics are more important to her than her real family. And chances are high that Lily won't prevent the heretics from targeting her sons.
In a recent interview, actor Paul Wesley said season 7 will see the Salvatore brothers in danger, and speculations are rife that the heretics could have something to do with it.
"Someone is after Damon and Stefan. There is an imminent danger and threat. They're running from this thing, but we don't know what it is," Wesley said, according to Melty.
Although the heretics are the prime suspects, Melty speculates that the "thing" could be a new mystical creature, considering Mystic Falls is filled with vampires, witches and werewolves.
"The Vampire Diaries" will return to the CW in October.
