Promotional photos from the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries" focus on the boys of Mystic Falls and the scenes indicate trouble for Tyler Lockwood, who is said to be struggling with anger issues.
Season five ended with Damon and Bonnie being trapped in the Other Side, while Alaric and the rest of the gang made it out, and the upcoming season will pick up four months from where the events of the last episode left off.
The photo shows Tyler, who is back to his human form, getting into a fight with a blond at a football tailgate, and now that Stefan is not there to help him control his temper, Alaric steps into his shoes in a bid to prevent Tyler from re-triggering the curse.
The history teacher will have a new ladylove in season six in the form of Jo, a beautiful doctor at the University hospital, and as for Stefan, he too is said to find solace in the arms of a new love interest, according to new spoilers.
Stefan has moved away from Mystic Falls, and everyone believes he is trying to find some way to reverse the spell and bring back Damon and Bonnie from the Other Side. But everyone will be up for a surprise when they finally learn the truth about what he has been up to, the official synopsis of the premiere episode states.
Fans of the Salvatore brothers will not have to wait long to see the two together, as Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon, recently told Entertainment Weekly that he has some really great scenes with his onscreen brother.
"I had some really great scenes with Paul not too long ago, like last week. You definitely see some great stuff with those boys. It's good when they're not at one another's throats," the 35-year-old actor shared.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
Check out the official synopsis of the big premiere: "After spending the past four months coping with the loss of Damon in an unconventional and potentially dangerous way, Elena has returned to Whitmore College for the start of sophomore year. Unable to move on, Caroline (Candice Accola) is desperate to find a way to reverse the anti-magic spell the Travelers have put over Mystic Falls and grows frustrated when her calls to Stefan go unanswered."
And "Matt (Zach Roerig) worries that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is dealing with the loss of Bonnie in a self-destructive way."
