"The Vampire Diaries" spoilers have it that Stefan and Caroline's romance would become a major part of season 6 storyline.
"Her romance with Stefan will become a major part of her Season 6 storyline, even if that romance isn't exactly a two-way street. She's going to realize it's a little more one-sided than she was hoping, and there's going to be some fallout from that," executive producer Caroline Dries says. "But just because one character doesn't like another character, that doesn't mean it's not a fascinating love story," said Michael Ausiello of TV Line.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 is said to be the last season in the franchise. CW announced the sixth season on 13 February before season 5 went off air.
The first episode of season 6 is called "I'll Remember" and it would began post Damon and Bonnie's death.
Season 6 is reported to began few months after Damon and Bonnie's death.
Meanwhile, Elena will reportedly deal with Damon's death in the upcoming season.
"I'd like to see how she copes and deals with things post-Damon and see how she's going to be able to move on and if she'll have a normal life," said Nin Dobrev who plays Elena to Parade, adding, "Everything in Elena's life is complicated."
The "Other Side" has also disappeared on the show and it will be impossible to bring back Damon and Bonnie from dead.
"Well, for one, when someone dies they're dead for good, they can't come back. They're dead, they're gone since there's no place for them to come back from. So that's going to be one of the main repercussions of the other side disappearing," said Dobrev, hinting about the season 6 plot line.
Moreover, Ian Somerhlader who plays Damon on the show recently revealed that season 6 could be the last one.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 is all set to premiere in October this year.
