"The Vampire Diaries" fans will probably have to bid goodbye to Sheriff Forbes in the upcoming episode of the series, titled "Prayer For the Dying."
The previous episode saw Caroline feeding her mother Vampire blood in the hope of curing her of cancer, but it's going to take a turn for the worse. Caroline will soon start blaming herself for killing her mother, and Stefan is going to be a source of comfort during these times.
"You took a risk. You did it out of love," Stefan says in the promo video.
The official synopsis further teased that Jo will try to save Sheriff Forbes' life, but based on the promo video, it can be deduced that she will be unsuccessful as the footage shows hospital staff trying to revive a lifeless Sheriff Forbes.
Fans of Damon and Elena will have reasons to cheer, as the two will once again reunite. Executive producer Julie Plec previously teased to E!Online that the second half of season 6 will feature a "hookup, breakup and makeup," and revealed more about the hookup saying, "I can tell you that the hookup is… people who like rain will be very happy."
The comment seems to be in reference to the famous Damon and Elena rain kiss that was featured earlier in Season 6.
Meanwhile, it remains doubtful if Bonnie, who is still trapped in Bonnie's prison, will be featured in the next episode. Although she is expected to return between episodes 11 and 15, there is no mention of the character in the synopsis of "Prayer For the Dying," which reads:
"When Liv and Luke's father arrives to town to celebrate their birthday, they try and convince him to let Jo and Kai take their place in the merge ceremony. After Tyler finds out that the merge is happening sooner than he expected, he urges Liv to let him talk to her father. Lastly, with the merge set to take place, Damon's risky plan quickly sends things spiraling out of control, forcing one of the twins to take matters into their own hands."
