Evergreen Bollywood film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) has been voted as the most popular romantic film of all time.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer "DDLJ" has topped the poll conducted by IBNLive. Even after 18 years of its release, the film continues to rule the hearts of the audiences.
In the poll, conducted on the eve of Valentine's Day, readers were asked to vote for the most romantic film from a bouquet that featured over 50 titles.
The poll also included Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, English, Korean and Spanish films in the list, other than Hindi flicks.
"The focus was on Hindi films, but films from several other languages were also included in order to give the readers different perspectives towards romance and how different filmmakers approach it," IBNLive reported.
"DDLJ" won the poll with 40.9 percent vote, followed by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio starrer "Titanic" at second spot with an 8.47 percent vote share.
Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer "Jab We Met" received 4.79 percent votes, while Salman Khan's "Maine Pyaar Kiya" got 4.15 percent of votes.
SRK and Kajol's another film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" received 3.99 percent votes, while Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla starrer "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" got 3.66 percent votes.
Classics like "Casablanca", "Roman Holiday", "Gone With The Wind" and "Mouna Raagam" were also listed in the poll.
Last year, Shah Rukh and Kajol were voted the most romantic on-screen couple of all time, in a survey conducted Sanona - the UK's largest online Pay-Per-View Indian portal.
Besides SRK-Kajol, 11 other couples were included in the survey, including Raj Kapoor - Nargis, Shammi Kapoor - Asha Parekh, Dilip Kumar - Madhubala, Guru Dutt - Waheeda Rehman, Amitabh Bachchan - Rekha, Dharmedra - Hema Malini and Rishi Kapoor - Neetu Singh.
However, SRK and Kajol beat them to the title of the most sentimental Bollywood Jodi ever. [Check out the report here]
