Post-poll clashes between Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party workers in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, have cost the life of a person and injured five people on Saturday
The police have arrested eight people, including a former Gram Pradhan, in connection to the violent clash.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, who has been chosen to be the next chief minister of UP, condemned the post-poll clashes in the state and assured that strict action would be taken against the culprits.
Several violent clashes have been reported in UP ever since Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP defeated Mayawati-led BSP in the recent elections. Three people have died so far in poll-related violence.
